The existing overgrown and underutilized courtyard required a dramatic metamorphosis with an emphasis on a renewed circulation framework and a relative but deliberate idea. Our primary role involved the detailed design of the hardscape which references geological striation patterns and shifting plate tectonics. Layered overlapping planes link two entrances and provide a meandering journey amidst the woodland gardens and to a pavilion. Furniture and lighting recommendations and a conceptual planting layout were also undertaken. The woodland gardens were designed and installed by the faculty and students.
