Arthur Lierman Landscape Architecture is a progressive design studio committed to an integrated approach to landscape and architectural environments. We seek to challenge ordinary perceptions with meaningful and inspiring landscapes that shape and engage the human experience.

Established in 2002, our work ranges from parks and public spaces to institutional, educational and commercial landscapes to multi-unit and private residential gardens. The work is characterized by authentic and experientially rich landscapes that are research based with a strong spatial emphasis, explorative planting design, sound technical detailing, and thorough project management. ALLA works collaboratively with specialists, sub-consultants and contractors depending on the scope and complexity of the project.

Art Lierman, OALA, CSLA, is the founding principal of ALLA. During his professional career, spanning over 20 years, he has collaborated with a diverse range of professionals including landscape architects, urban planners, architects, engineers, horticulturists and public artists. As a result, Art has developed a sculptural approach with strong contextual and contemporary responses that aspire to innovative and environmentally sustainable landscape design solutions.

Art’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts specializing in urban geography from Western University and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto. He was a part-time instructor at Fanshawe College in the Landscape Design Programme. Art continues to be involved with several local public realm and neighbourhood improvement initiatives in both a volunteer and a consultant capacity. He has also been a public art jury member for London Arts Council mural projects and was a Board of Director for ReForest London. His passion for ballpark architecture lead him to become a member of Friends of Labatt Park and to his involvement in the development of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in St. Marys and his current role as a volunteer member of the Site Committee. Art and his wife, Nicole St. John, live in the Riverforks neighbourhood where they enjoy urban living and building community spirit and pride.
