Created in partnership with the London Professional Firefighters Association and the City of London, the memorial designed to establish a ceremonial square defining the front of the Fire Department Headquarters both supports and complements the streetscape improvements along Horton Street. The urban gathering space, with its asymmetrical composition and curvilinear framework, provides a place for reflection, passage, and casual and programmed activities. The monument base and proposed seatwalls are to be implemented in a future phase to include a memory garden along Colborne Street.
