Two adjoining outdoor spaces with strong design differences afford opportunities for entertaining and recreation. A prominent fireplace organizes the more active upper terrace for dining and relaxation. Privacy walls topped with horizontal slat screens incorporate a continuous seat ledge and wood storage compartments and support a pergola. A spa and water feature completes the architectural composition. The lower patio possesses gardenesque qualities with a skewed space spatially enclosed by Japanese spurge, spirea, yew and serviceberry.
